The creative research and artistic experiments of the INREV aim at creating visual and sound environments hybridizing real and virtual, in which evolve interactive entities of synthesis whose cognitive and perceptual capacities are amplified by learning process of artificial intelligence and artificial life.

Through its interdisciplinary arts/science/technology approach and its contribution to the Labex Art-H2H and IDEFI-CréaTIC programs, the INREV maintains fruitful collaborations with other university laboratories (in other arts, human and social sciences, or scientific fields), with major art schools, art centers, national and international museums and conservation institutions, and also with innovative companies in the field of digital image.

The INREV team is structured around four major research areas :

Axis 1 : Artificial Intelligence & Artificial Life in relation to virtual/augmented/mixed realities in an art/science/technology

Axis 2 : Relationships between digital art and the living arts

Axis 3 : Ludography : aesthetics and artistic practice of video games

Axis 4 : Tangible/intangible heritage : preservation, digitization, restitution and transmission
